Fast Paced Manufacturing Facility covering two sites: Devizes (Wiltshire) and Highbridge (Somerset).
Salary: up to £80,000 per annum + £5,500 Car Allowance, 10% Bonus and 6% matched pension.
Reporting to the General Manager and Head of SHE, this role is for a driven, engaging leader to be the subject matter expert across both sites, drive continuous improvement and further mature the behaviours and safety culture across already progressive sites.
Main responsibilities:
- Be the subject matter expert across the site for SHE, supporting the General Manager with a dotted line to the sector Head of SHE.
- Key member of the site leadership team offering combined support, providing both SHE guidance and being a trusted and approachable site leader.
- Devise and implement SHE strategies to enable the delivery of a proactive SHE culture.
- Ensure all Health, Safety and Environment legal requirements, policies, standards, procedures are interpreted, communicated, documented and systems exist to ensure compliance.
- Develop, implement, maintain, communicate and continuously improve the Health, Safety and Environment management system.
- Design, implement, monitor and report SHE performance, analyse trends and develop action plans to deliver targets regarding SHE.
- Identification and coordination of SHE training and development for managers.
- Promote and drive a culture of continuous improvement of Health & Safety and best environmental practice.
- Ensure all incidents are investigated, recorded and reported.
- Monitor risk assessment process and provide assistance/advice to assessors.
- Co-ordinate Business Unit actions with regard to enforcement authorities/loss adjusters.
Essential qualifications and experience:
- NEBOSH Diploma, IOSH Level 6 or equivalent.
- Experience in a fast paced production/manufacturing/engineering sector.
- Experience in improving cultural change and encouraging positive behaviours.
- Able to translate the technical into practical, usable and simple SHE solutions.
Ideal personality requirements:
- Confident with the ability to influence and gain buy-in across a fast paced environment.
- Hands on and approachable.
- Aware of the bigger picture and can drive accountability downwards to the workforce.
