About the Role

HSDC is looking for an ambitious and creative Events Officer to lead the planning and delivery of our annual programme of high-profile events that inspire, inform, and engage our community. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping the experience of thousands of prospective students and their families each year. Working across all three campuses, you’ll bring events to life that showcase the very best of HSDC.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver effective communication with colleagues across the College to support seamless event delivery.
- Work with external suppliers to ensure cost effective, high-quality services and value for money.
- Lead the setup, layout, and on-the-day coordination of event spaces to create a professional and welcoming environment, ensuring all activities comply with health and safety requirements.
- Work with the Marketing team to develop engaging and brand aligned event materials that bring the HSDC identity to life.
- Design and manage event feedback mechanisms, analyse attendee data, and provide clear post-event reporting to support continuous improvement.
- Lead full event evaluations, coordinating debrief discussions with stakeholders and documenting insights and recommendations.
- Work as part of the Marketing Team, participating fully in a calendar of events for all customer segments, which will involve some evening and weekend work.
- Show a willingness to work with other members of the team on special projects.
Requirements
- Full clean driving licence with access to your own car.
- Level 3 Qualification.
- A professional marketing or event qualification e.g. CIM, IDM, equivalent experience or willingness to work towards a qualification.
- Experience coordinating multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of customer experience principles and event journey planning.
- Strong digital skills, including Microsoft, Google Workspace and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience of planning and running events.
