Salary: Grade 3 Spine Point 13 – £25,625.74 (actual salary: £16,446.29)
Contract Type: 28 hours, 1 year maternity cover FTC

About the Role

Are you looking for an opportunity to support students to make effective progress and achieve their ambitions? Working with the curriculum to focus on those facing barriers to learning, you would mentor and support student success, promote student resilience and independence through relational practice, target setting and monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the skills of students who are disengaging following referrals from tutors; liaise with specialist colleagues to create, coordinate and implement a support plan with clear targets.
  • Deliver targeted support interventions, including making referrals for students with physical/mental health issues and liaising with parents/carers as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular 1:1s as timetabled for Level 2 and below, ensuring students are on track to succeed.
  • Maintain own caseload of Level 3 students, conducting regular 1:1s and monitoring progress.
  • Work with students on supporting their progression options including UCAS applications, offering support, guidance and help to contribute to an outstanding learner experience.

Requirements

  • English and maths to at least level 2
  • Youth work, Public Health, Health & Wellbeing, teaching or trauma‑informed qualification; First Aid qualification or willingness to obtain
  • Understanding of barriers to learning, including mental health support requirements
  • Working knowledge of external support agencies and stakeholders
