Job Details Job Title: Lecturer / Teacher of Biology Department: Science Campus: South Downs Salary: Grade 5 Spine Point 19 £32,510.78 - Grade 5 Spine Point 26 £42,483.46 FTE (actual salary: £3,251.08 - £4,248.35) (dependent on experience) FTE/Hours & Weeks: 0.1FTE Contract Type: Permanent About the Role HSDC is seeking a Lecturer/Teacher of Biology to ensure outstanding success and progression through the delivery of inspirational teaching, learning and assessment.
This opportunity will suit someone with a passion for both Biology and for student success. The postholder must be self-motivated and innovative, with the ability to inspire our students. Responsibilities You will be responsible for:

  • Planning effectively and delivering high quality teaching, learning, assessment and support, leading to excellent attendance, retention and achievement.
  • To deliver formal scheduled teaching duties, tutorials (as appropriate) and student assessment.
  • To record, share and regularly monitor student progress using College information systems.
  • To prepare learning plans schemes of work, keep relevant records and undertake all administration relevant to teaching duties.
  • To attend parents\' evenings, marketing and promotional events.
Requirements You will need:
  • Level 5 or equivalent Teaching Qualification such as Certificate in Education or PGCE or willingness to work towards this.
  • High level of specialist knowledge of the subject area
  • At least 2 years\' experience in teaching the subject area to full-time or part-time students (Desirable).
  • Degree in relevant subject (Desirable)
