About the Role

We are looking for distance learning assessors who are passionate about their area of expertise. You will be responsible for the marking and assessment of distance learner portfolios on our online learning platforms. The successful applicant will have excellent time management skills and will be comfortable working alone or as part of a team. Excellent communication skills and experience of engaging learners using IT is essential. We would welcome applicants from all vocational sectors.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Carry out an induction of distance learners allocated to plan and support the delivery and assessment of their learning programme
  • Organise and manage additional support, by encouraging use of online platform and course resources
  • Ensure that marking and feedback is completed in accordance with the standard set with the Programme Lead, to ensure timely completion
  • Delivery, marking, assessment and IQA work to support the achievement of online learners
  • Communicate regularly with learners using the online platform in accordance with the standard set by Programme Lead to ensure achievement

Requirements

You will need:

  • Assessing qualification (A1 or equivalent)
  • Proven assessor experience
  • Evidence of good results including retention, success and high grades of achievers where appropriate. High level of knowledge across various vocational sectors
  • IQA qualification
  • Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS)
  • Teaching qualification
