The Development team plays a crucial role in the success of the HSCALE product, ensuring the successful establishment, powering, reporting and monitoring, procurement, construction and commissioning of data centre campuses, through to seamless handover to operations. The power team ensures that data centres have a reliable and scalable power supply, coordinating with utility providers and integrating renewable energy sources where possible. They design and implement power distribution systems that meet the high demands of data centre operations, all the while considering how to “commercialise” HSCALE’s power infrastructure.
HSCALE is seeking a commercially driven, detail-oriented Head of Purchasing to lead purchasing activities across development and construction projects within its growing European data centre portfolio. This role is responsible for managing the procurement and purchasing of goods, materials, equipment, and services required to support successful project delivery across multiple active campuses.
Working closely with Development, Construction, Power, PMO, Finance, Legal, and Operations teams, the role will ensure purchasing processes are scalable, commercially robust, and aligned with project schedules, quality standards, and cost objectives. The successful candidate will play a key role in supplier management, commercial negotiations, contract administration, and purchasing governance within a fast-paced, investor-backed environment.
Your Role
- Lead purchasing activities across development, construction, and infrastructure projects within the HSCALE portfolio
- Manage sourcing, tendering, supplier selection, and purchasing processes for equipment, materials, and services
- Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, framework agreements, and supplier contracts
- Support project teams with procurement planning aligned to programme schedules and critical milestones
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, contractors, and service providers across EMEA
- Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, quality standards, and contractual compliance
- Work closely with Construction, Development, Finance, and Legal teams to ensure purchasing activities support project and business objectives
- Support budgeting, cost control, forecasting, and purchasing reporting activities
- Identify supply chain risks and implement mitigation strategies to reduce commercial and delivery exposure
- Drive continuous improvement across purchasing systems, processes, governance, and supplier management
Your Profile
- Minimum 8–10 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience from Data Center development environment
- Proven experience managing purchasing activities for large-scale projects or multi-site programmes
- Strong commercial negotiation and supplier management capability
- Experience sourcing construction materials, MEP equipment, technical services, or infrastructure-related packages
- Good understanding of contract management, commercial controls, and purchasing governance
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and commercial teams
- Strong analytical capability with attention to detail and reporting accuracy
- Experience working in fast-paced, investor-backed, or international project environments is advantageous
- Flexible, adaptable, and willing to travel across EMEA as required
