Global Internal Audit (GIA) helps the Board and Executive Management to protect the assets, reputation and sustainability of the HSBC Group. GIA provides independent and objective assurance over the design and operating effectiveness of the Group's framework of risk management, control and governance processes. GIA possesses specialized capabilities and skills through its versatile, inquisitive, and diverse team of global professionals.
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Sustainability and Climate Risk Audit to deliver audits, complete risk assessments, and provide internal stakeholders with critical assessments of HSBC's Sustainability and Climate Risk framework, governance, and risks.
In this role, you will:
- Effectively manage and oversee end-to-end audit activities, including planning, execution, and delivery of the annual audit plan within expected timeframes, standards, methodology, budget, and best practices.
- Drive co-ordination and collaboration across teams to make sure audit work is consistently delivered.
- Confirm audit findings and remediation plans are accurate, appropriate, and accepted by management.
- Provide constructive challenge and, as necessary, risk-based advice to stakeholders.
- Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- Represent GIA in governance forums, including the preparation and presentation of associated audit packs.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Extensive experience in the Financial Services Sector, consultancy, and external audit.
- Experience in Assurance, regulatory and ESG, including sustainability and climate risk, accounting, audit, analytical, financial, project management and risk management.
- Strong Communication Skills with the ability to communicate with impact and ensure complex information is articulated meaningfully.
- Ability to apply qualitative and quantitative methods to analyze and investigate challenging scenarios and situations.
- Analytical and critical thinker, who can effectively manage competing priorities and complex challenges to deliver positive outcomes.
The base location for this role is based in the UK with a hybrid working pattern.
