We are currently seeking an Associate Director, Equity Derivatives Trader, to join the team in London.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Provide quotations of various structured products on stocks and indices on both primary and secondary markets for institutional and retail clients.
- Manage risks associated with these products by trading all sorts of derivatives products: equity options, futures, IR swap, FX, Correlation products, etc.
- Maintain risk positions within limits.
- Provide liquidity to clients and manage positions to maximize total revenue of trading profit plus commission.
- Monitor and manage gap risks which are specific to structured products.
- Maintain communication with sales globally and structuring teams.
- Generate new trading ideas, expand the range of products marketed to clients, and provide trading axes to sales.
- Develop synergies between flow and structured products books by recycling some risks coming from structured business into flow products.
- Ensure trading activity is conducted with all appropriate risk parameters and participate in enhancing the current way we manage the positions.
- Improve the quotation process by automating a large number of requests and enhancing secondary market tools and risk management.
- Ensure compliance monitoring is in place, including processes for management of operational risk, in accordance with HSBC and regulatory standards.
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following:
- Extensive Financial Markets knowledge gained in an Equity Derivatives Trading role.
- Proven working knowledge of derivatives and structured products across stocks and indices on primary and secondary markets.
- Good overview of regulation and accounting, including upcoming changes which impact the industry.
- Good understanding of different client business models and experience in dealing with Institutional and Retail clients.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with very strong analytical skills.
- Ability to multi-task and to work well under pressure, strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
