The below job description outlines the position of Marine Civil Engineer. Typically, this person will be responsible for delivering marine civil engineering projects from tender stage through execution and close-out, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure safe, high-quality, and commercially successful outcomes.
Duties and responsibilities of the Marine Civil Engineer:
- Lead and contribute to tender submissions, providing engineering, methodology, and costing input.
- Deliver marine and civil engineering projects including quays, jetties, foundations, coastal protection works, and nearshore infrastructure.
- Manage project execution to ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to agreed quality standards.
- Coordinate marine operations including vessels, workboats, plant, subcontractors, and logistics.
- Identify and manage operational risks related to tides, metocean conditions, seabed, navigation, and environmental constraints.
- Oversee site activities, reporting, quality control, and compliance with HSE and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications and requirements for the Marine Civil Engineer:
- Degree-qualified in Marine, Civil, Coastal, Offshore, or related Engineering discipline.
- Experience delivering marine civil works such as quay walls, jetties, subsea foundations, trenching, or coastal infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of marine construction methods and workboat operations.
- Proven ability to manage projects, teams, and stakeholders across multiple UK sites.
- Willingness to travel within the UK.
