Typically, this person will be a reliable, organised and proactive person looking to join a busy team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the daily handling, storage, and dispatching of products and supplies. You will ensure accuracy, safety, and timely fulfilment of orders.
Duties and responsibilities of the Warehouse Operative:
- Receive, unload and check incoming stock deliveries against delivery notes
- Inspect and verify product quantities and condition; report any discrepancies or damages
- Store goods in the correct warehouse locations, maintaining proper organisation
- Accurately pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for dispatch
- Label parcels correctly, ensuring shipping documentation and packing slips are accurate
- Operate warehouse equipment - forklift
- Conduct regular stock checks/cycle counts and update stock records
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness, safety standards and general orderliness
- Assist with loading outgoing shipments, working with courier or transport providers as required
- Collaborate with the office/sales team regarding order status, stock levels, and dispatch schedules
- Adhere to company policies for health & safety, manual handling and warehouse procedures
Qualifications and requirements for the Warehouse Operative:
- Experience operating warehouse equipment, such as forklifts or pallet trucks (with a valid licence/certification)
- Previous experience working in a marine, parts, or retail-based environment
- Basic familiarity with stock-control or warehouse management systems
- Flexibility to assist with occasional inventory audits, loading/unloading, and ad-hoc packing demands
- Due to the location of the business, a driving licence would be beneficial
