This is a home-based, field-sales role selling directly to distributors, boat builders, retailers and installers. You will be the company's front-line representative in your territory.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Identifying and developing new business opportunities within Scotland and Northern England — targeting distributors, boat builders, retailers and installers along with new industries.
- Maintaining and growing relationships with existing customers: ensuring satisfaction, managing orders, anticipating needs, and supporting retention and repeat business.
- Representing the company at meetings, site visits, boat-yards, trade-shows and other relevant industry events in your region.
- Presenting and promoting the company's product range; understanding customers' requirements and recommending appropriate products.
- Achieving and exceeding agreed sales targets and performance metrics for your territory as set out between yourself and the sales director.
- Reporting on market trends, customer feedback, competitor activity and regional opportunities to senior management.
- Providing after-sales support as needed: assisting with order placement, product enquiries or issue resolution.
- Working pro-actively, managing a sales pipeline, following up leads and converting prospects to clients.
Qualifications and requirements:
- A strong sales background, ideally with experience in field sales, B2B or marine/marine-related products (or a willingness to learn the marine sector).
- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated, organised and able to work independently — comfortable with home-based work and travelling frequently throughout the assigned territory.
- Proven ability to build and manage a sales pipeline, close deals, and meet or exceed targets.
