The below job description outlines the position of Marine Civil Engineer. Typically, this person will be responsible for delivering marine civil engineering projects from tender stage through execution and close-out, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure safe, high-quality, and commercially successful outcomes.

Duties and responsibilities of the Marine Civil Engineer:

  • Lead and contribute to tender submissions, providing engineering, methodology, and costing input.
  • Deliver marine and civil engineering projects including quays, jetties, foundations, coastal protection works, and nearshore infrastructure.
  • Manage project execution to ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to agreed quality standards.
  • Coordinate marine operations including vessels, workboats, plant, subcontractors, and logistics.
  • Identify and manage operational risks related to tides, metocean conditions, seabed, navigation, and environmental constraints.
  • Oversee site activities, reporting, quality control, and compliance with HSE and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications and requirements for the Marine Civil Engineer:

  • Degree-qualified in Marine, Civil, Coastal, Offshore, or related Engineering discipline.
  • Experience delivering marine civil works such as quay walls, jetties, subsea foundations, trenching, or coastal infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of marine construction methods and workboat operations.
  • Proven ability to manage projects, teams, and stakeholders across multiple UK sites.
  • Willingness to travel within the UK.
