The below job description will outline this position of Spare Parts Sales Manager.
This person will drive revenue growth through pro-active outbound sales of spare parts to new and existing customers. This is a hands-on sales role focused on identifying opportunities, re-engaging dormant accounts, and converting enquiries into orders. The role requires a CRM-driven approach to pipeline management and a relentless focus on outbound activity rather than reactive order processing.
Duties and responsibilities of the Spare Parts Sales Manager:
- Pro-actively identify and pursue sales opportunities for spare parts across the customer base
- Re-engage dormant and lapsed accounts with an aim of recovering lost business
- Manage and grow key accounts through regular contact, up-selling and cross-selling
- Ensure same-day acknowledgement of all enquiries and adhere to quote turnaround SLAs
- Maintain accurate CRM records of all customer interactions, opportunities and pipeline activity
- Oversee the quotation process for spare parts, ensuring the team meets turnaround SLAs and quality standards
- Coach and support the parts team on identifying up-selling opportunities and effective customer communication
- Collaborate with Service, Operations and Marketing to identify up-sell and cross-sell opportunities
- Support marketing initiatives by contributing to campaign ideas, providing market intelligence, and following up on marketing-generated leads
- Provide regular sales performance reports to management, including pipeline status and conversion metrics
- Attend customer sites, exhibitions and industry events as required to generate new business
- Develop expert knowledge of the product range to provide technical guidance to customers
- Support OEM partner relationships by promoting genuine parts supply through OEM partners
- Create positive working relationships with key internal stakeholders across service, operations, and workshop teams to identify cross-sell opportunities
Qualifications and requirements for the Spare Parts Sales Manager:
- Experience in marine, power generation, oil & gas or similar industrial sectors
- Knowledge of diesel engines, turbochargers or related mechanical components
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics or similar ERP/CRM systems
- Understanding of technical drawings and parts catalogues
- Understanding of value-based pricing for parts and consumables
- Experience working with OEM parts supply or franchise agreements
