This opportunity is with a well-established contractor operating within the clean and wastewater industry, delivering a wide range of mechanical and civil engineering works across treatment and utility sites.
Typically this person will be an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer from a clean water, wastewater, utilities, or heavy engineering background, comfortable working on live sites and supporting Project Managers with site delivery. They will be organised, proactive, and safety focused.
Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Project Engineer:- Assisting Project Managers in the delivery of mechanical projects
- Coordinating site activities, sub contractors, and suppliers
- Supporting works including general pipework, handrail and steelwork, linings, pump installations, and associated mechanical works
- Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to specification
- Assisting with planning, progress reporting, and site documentation
- Liaising with site teams, engineers, and client representatives
- Proven experience in a Mechanical Project Engineer or similar role
- Background within the clean or wastewater sector preferred
- Strong understanding of mechanical installations and site-based works
- Knowledge of health & safety procedures and working on live sites
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent experience
