HSB Technical Ltd is a specialist recruiter within the Power & Propulsion, Shipbuilding, Shipping & Energy and Aerospace sectors. We have a number of permanent and contract vacancies for multiple businesses across the UK and overseas.
Duties and responsibilities of the Technical Superintendent:
- Have full budgetary responsibility of assigned vessels - making sure they are always operational, safe, and efficient
- Ensure planned vessel inspections are carried out, including preparation of the vessel for appropriate class/flag inspections
- Take the lead on ensuring everyday maintenance & physical repairs, dry docks - and making sure this work is carried out to the required industry standards
- Be a Technical Vessel expert to support land-based and on-board personnel
Qualifications and requirements for the Technical Superintendent:
- Someone with existing shoreside experience in a similar post, coupled with a background to 2nd Engineer and above, or a strong Ship Repair background
- Any additional Electrical Engineering exposure and ability to read electrical drawings is very advantageous
- A problem solver that comes up with realistic solutions
- Excellent communicator
- Good eye for detail and report-writing skills
- Must have the immediate right to live and work in the UK
