The predicted salary is between 54878 - 64562 £ per year.
Base salary: £54,878pa to c.£64,562pa depending on skills and experience. In addition, we offer a flexible benefits fund of 20% which is paid on top of the base salary and is fully pensionable, as well as a range of competitive benefits.

Job Purpose
This role is responsible for leading the business planning and forecasting process and delivering consolidated financial performance reporting to senior management and external stakeholders ensuring a co-ordinated and holistic approach that successfully links scheduling, procurement and resourcing requirements.
About the Role
- Leading the process for development of the annual business plan and budget setting processes within funding caps set by the Spending Review.
- Support the development of an output driven, activity-based budget, clearly aligned to programme delivery requirements, making clear and reasoned recommendations to the Executive and the HS2 Ltd Board.
- Develop and set clear timetables, guidance, templates and communications for use by the business that capture all relevant supporting information behind plans and forecasts.
- Critically review and challenge business plans, assessing plans for their affordability, value for money, timing and impact on programme delivery.
- Engage and collaborate with key stakeholders and partner functions (such as planning, procurement, contract management and HR teams) to ensure a holistic view taken to the required capabilities and resources needed to effectively deliver plans.
- Utilise data analytics to provide insightful MI and drive consensus between senior stakeholders.
- Manage and control process for all budget requirements.
- Produce key financial management information and reporting as required.
- Actively promote and embed Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work, and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.
About You
Skills:
- Ability to use ERP systems, utilising data analytics software and complex Excel models.
- Ability to deliver value adding MI and ensuring effective financial controls within a major project.
- Stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage, communicate and develop consensus with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritise, making insightful recommendations on the options for allocation of scarce resources.
- Liaise and co-ordinate with Finance Business Partners to ensure thorough understanding of the programme schedule and company support requirements.
Knowledge:
- Ability to interpret and communicate complex financial issues to non-financial colleagues and to secure compliance with Managing Public Money.
- Knowledge of Government accounting requirements (DEL/AME funding) to ensure compliance of business plans with delegated authority.
- CCAB Qualified accountant.
