HS2, Britain’s new high-speed railway is at peak construction. Balfour Beatty VINCI is HS2’s construction partner in the Midlands, responsible for delivering 90km of the route, from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and on to Handsacre in Staffordshire.

Location:
Based in Coventry – the South Region comprises Sublots 2B, 2A and 1A Long Itchington Wood. It stretches for approximately 39.2km from Finham Brook to Southam through a mixture of rural and suburban landscapes
Role Responsibilities:
- Ensuring all permits are obtained and in place prior to works commencing, with effective document control for the distribution and management of information.
- Managing subcontractors and coordinating with other site sections to resolve clashes and maintain a smooth, efficient flow of work.
- Developing, approving, and regularly reviewing procedures, method statements, and risk assessments, ensuring full compliance throughout the works.
- Overseeing setting out and surveying activities, and ensuring Inspection & Test Plans and Quality Check Sheets are completed in a timely manner.
- Liaising regularly with the client and ensuring design drawings are accurately marked up to reflect completed works.
- Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) with previous site engineering experience.
- Proven experience delivering large-scale civil infrastructure projects, including structural RC works, drainage, highways, earthworks, and possession works.
- Competent in setting out techniques using levels, EDM, and GPS, with strong ability to read and interpret drawings and schedules.
- Skilled in producing detailed handover documentation and accurately taking off and scheduling material quantities.
- Holds a current CSCS card and driving licence, with a solid understanding of specifications and contract documents.
- Have experience working in Earthworks, Roadworks, Structures or Drainage
