Are you looking to progress your career by working on Britain’s biggest construction project? Balfour Beatty VINCI is working with a range of organisations to design and build the 90km West Midlands stretch of HS2 - Britain’s new high-speed railway. Our work is essential to enable HS2 trains to travel between London and Birmingham as well as continue their journey up to Manchester. It’s an incredibly exciting time to join us - we’re at peak construction with work really ramping up on a broad range of assets including bridges, tunnels and viaducts. Plus you’d join 9,000 people across 72 nationalities working on this exciting section of HS2 across the region.

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Planner within the PMO Function. This role will be based on site in Birmingham.

Role responsibilities:

  • To establish and implement the planning responsibilities document.
  • Coordinate and update programmes with performance during the Stage 2 period.
  • Ensure compliance to HS2 requirements.
  • Contribute to developing risk and opportunities and QSRA and QCRA analysis.
  • Support the production and delivery of the Performance Measurement Baseline and Performance Measurement Updates.
  • Ensure that the Programme captures scope management and aligns with BIM.
  • Capture and integrate current and forecast programme, budget, cost, and risk at asset and sub-asset level.
  • Promote best practice and innovation.
  • Assist with the development of all planning and project control staff to reach their full potential.
  • Assist with coaching and supporting of project control and planning staff, as required.
  • Ensure that appropriate lean, coordinated and visual performance metrics are set up to assist the Project Team to timely deliver projects and improve performance.
  • Effectively using IT and systems as a key enabler for gathering and timely and accurate reporting on project performance.

Experience required:

  • Computer literacy: Primavera (all versions), Microsoft Project, Word/Excel, TiLOS, Synchro.
  • Report writing skills.
  • Substantial site experience of which some must be in relevant disciplines and some as a senior discipline planner.
  • Aptitude for logic and attention to detail.
  • Experience of planning.
