Location

Based in Birmingham – the Central Region runs from the east of Birmingham into the city centre, comprising Sublot Delta, 1B, 4 and 5S. More than 50% of the structures within IPT Area North are located in the Central Region. This region, which covers a complex urban environment, also includes the 3.5 mile twin bore Bromford Tunnel. It also includes Interchange Station, as well as crossing three major highways (A45, M6 and M42).

Role Responsibilities

  • Allocate and supervise Site Engineers, ensuring accurate setting out, task completion, and coordination with Section Engineers/Foremen to manage clashes and maintain workflow.
  • Manage quality and compliance by ensuring Inspection & Test Plans, Quality Check Sheets, method statements, and risk assessments are completed, approved, and followed.
  • Oversee engineering and subcontractor requirements to ensure sections of work are delivered in line with the construction programme.
  • Control and manage project documentation, including distribution of information and marking up design drawings to reflect completed works.
  • Assess and plan plant, resource, and procedural requirements with the Section Foreman, regularly reviewing and improving procedures for efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Degree level qualification in a Civil Engineering allied subject or HND in Civil Engineering
  • Min of 3 years\’ experience as Section Engineer
  • Read and understand drawings
  • Have experience of working with Permit System and actively raises permits to work
  • Have experience working in Earthworks, Roadworks, Structures or Drainage
