HS2, Britain’s new high-speed railway is at peak construction. Balfour Beatty VINCI is HS2’s construction partner in the Midlands, responsible for delivering 90km of the route, from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and on to Handsacre in Staffordshire. Location: Based at Fort Dunlop – this location sits on the eastern edge of Birmingham, adjacent to the M6 motorway, providing excellent transport links into the city and across the region. Fort Dunlop serves as a key hub within IPT Area North, supporting operations that span multiple sublots and regional activities. Its strategic position makes it an important point for coordination and access, with proximity to major infrastructure routes ensuring connectivity to both the Central Region and wider project areas.
Role Responsibilities:
- Ensuring timely compliance with HS2 standards and BBV project requirements, actively promoting and supporting adherence to company and client safety standards.
- Managing Commitments Requirements Specification (CRS) baseline, supporting U&A audits, and contributing to long‑term compliance planning, back‑office development, and digital transformation.
- Reviewing, collating, managing, and submitting evidence of U&A compliance for upload to Eb and submission to HS2, while providing upward reporting to the U&A Business Manager.
- Collaborating and communicating effectively with HS2, petitioners, stakeholders, third‑party contractors, and internal teams to gather evidence, manage escalation of issues, and share good practice.
- Supporting project integration through effective data management, risk assessment and mitigation, delivery of compliance performance targets, and consistently demonstrating BBV behaviours.
- Degree-qualified and/or professionally accredited, with a proactive, positive approach and a strong ability to deliver to deadlines.
- Strong experience managing compliance within complex environments and major construction or infrastructure projects.
- Proven ability to work effectively within multi‑disciplinary teams, demonstrating strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficient in approved working practices and IT systems, including EDMS and GIS, with well‑developed organisational and analytical capabilities.
- In‑depth understanding of legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements, including experience with auditing and adherence to formal legal procedures.
