Location

Based in Birmingham - the Central Region runs from the east of Birmingham into the city centre, comprising Sublot Delta, 1B, 4 and 5S.

More than 50% of the structures within IPT Area North are located in the Central Region.

This region, which covers a complex urban environment, also includes the 3.5 mile twin bore Bromford Tunnel.

It also includes Interchange Station, as well as crossing three major highways (A45, M6 and M42).

Role Overview

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of timekeeping and attendance management, ensuring accurate and timely recording of work hours for all personnel.

You will play a critical role in verifying timesheets, monitoring attendance, and addressing discrepancies in collaboration with site supervisors and project managers.

  • Reporting to the Cost Control Lead of the sub-lot
  • Supervise and manage the accurate recording of employee work hours, breaks, overtime, and absences via Ti PS.
  • Ensure timesheets and attendance records comply with company policies and labor regulations.
  • Review and approve work hours submitted by site supervisors.
  • Maintain the coding structure of Ti PS (Labor timekeeping software).
  • Payroll / Cost Support
  • Process and submit verified timesheets to the Finance & Commercial departments on time.
  • Determine the monthly labour cost by applying various criteria, such as CBS, Line Manager, Role, Teams, etc.
  • Check and approve the monthly Labour Invoices.
  • Address and resolve payroll and cost discrepancies related to timekeeping.
  • Reporting
  • Prepare and share detailed daily, weekly, and monthly reports on attendance, hours worked, and labour costs.
  • Conduct audits of timekeeping records to identify and rectify errors.
  • Forecasting
  • Prepare the manpower curve with the delivery team and consolidate it for the management team's review and approval.
  • Explain the variances against the forecast.

Essential Experience / Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in timekeeping, preferably in construction.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI is essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • On-site presence – a candidate who is actively present on-site and engaging with operations.
