Balfour Beatty VINCI is HS2’s construction partner in the Midlands, responsible for delivering 90km of the route, from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and on to Handsacre in Staffordshire. Current Opportunity: Security manager – Route Wide Location Based in Birmingham - the Central Region runs from the east of Birmingham into the city centre, comprising Sublot Delta, 1B, 4 and 5S. More than 50% of the structures within IPT Area North are located in the Central Region. This region, which covers a complex urban environment, also includes the 3.5 mile twin bore Bromford Tunnel. It also includes Interchange Station, as well as crossing three major highways (A45, M6 and M42).
Responsibilities:
- Ensure security provider contract performance by gathering data to monitor SLA and KPI.
- Maintain a strong security culture and implement practical security measures within areas of responsibility by carrying out security audits and risk assessments within the specified for each site.
- Carry out investigations and document security incidents where designated.
- Provide security advice to sites where required.
- Identify and advise the sublot/project team when additional security measures are required in the auditing process.
- Produce Security Management Plans where required.
- Monitor events taking place within their area of responsibility and arrange appropriate security measures to ensure risk reduction.
- Assist with developing policies and procedures to enable BBV Security Dept. implement security strategy across the project.
- Develop a strong understanding of sites and construction plans to anticipate security requirements for the project.
- Fulfil BBV Security Team on-call duties when required.
- Facilitate random search operations in area of responsibility.
- Update mobile patrolling Matrix to ensure appropriate mobile patrols are being carried out in area of responsibility.
- Undertake role within BBV Security Incident Response Plan including:
- Assume responsibilities for Security Bronze during catastrophic incident response.
- Support BBV Emergency Response Team (ERT) during catastrophic incidents.
- Ensure preservation of evidence, chain of custody as appropriate.
- Prepare written summary of the incident and corrective action taken.
- Take action to restrict foot and vehicle access where necessary.
- Collect and relay pertinent information to Watchkeeper, Silver and Gold.
Qualifications:
- Experience working within the construction or civil engineering industry.
- Ability to self-task.
- Experience of UK Security industry and criminal threats to the UK construction industry.
- Verifiable references and past work in relevant area.
- Strong communication skills, written and oral format.
- Excellent IT skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Flexibility to the working environment and changing business priorities.
- Clean UK driving licence.
