The predicted salary is between 35000 - 45000 € per year.

Location: Based in Birmingham - the Central Region runs from the east of Birmingham into the city centre, comprising Sublot Delta, 1B, 4 and 5S. More than 50% of the structures within IPT Area North are located in the Central Region. This region, which covers a complex urban environment, also includes the 3.5 mile twin bore Bromford Tunnel. It also includes Interchange Station, as well as crossing three major highways (A45, M6 and M42).

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Sublot H&S Manager.
  • Provide advice and support on all health and safety related issues to colleagues on site.
  • Advise on project compliance with the BBV health and safety management system and relevant UK legislation such as CDM, Work at Height etc.
  • Attend site daily to positively engage with colleagues and supply chain regarding health and safety matters.
  • Complete documented site inspections and joint inspections with suppliers.
  • Support project and construction colleagues to deliver safety briefings and safety presentations.
  • Review safe systems of work such as Risk Assessments and Method Statements where a formal health and safety review is required.
  • Provide support and advice to accident and incident investigations and ensure that the HS2 reporting database is updated.
  • Undertake health and safety evaluations of supplier bids alongside procurement team colleagues.
  • Produce safety communications such as Lessons Learned after incidents have occurred and other briefings and toolbox talks.
  • Work closely with colleagues in teams such as Traffic Management and Community Engagement to find resolution to any issues arising.
  • Provide advice and support to Sublot Facilities colleagues on health and safety issues connected to Facilities Management and building related issues including fire and security.
  • Work closely with the H&S Admin team to provide required information.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in Construction Health and Safety, ideally including major construction projects with similar themes to HS2.
  • Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
