Balfour Beatty VINCI is HS2’s construction partner in the Midlands, responsible for delivering 90km of the route, from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and on to Handsacre in Staffordshire.

Location

Based in Birmingham - the Central Region runs from the east of Birmingham into the city centre, comprising Sublot Delta, 1B, 4 and 5S.

More than 50% of the structures within IPT Area North are located in the Central Region.

This region, which covers a complex urban environment, also includes the 3.5 mile twin bore Bromford Tunnel.

It also includes Interchange Station, as well as crossing three major highways (A45, M6 and M42).

Responsibilities and Qualifications

  • Demonstrate the BBV behaviours.
  • Work in accordance with the BBV IMS - IPTAN Way procedures and processes.
  • To prepare the site / asset demobilisation programme for effective handover and hand back to HS2 and or Rail Systems.
  • Setting people to work safely, and ensuring all demobilisation, logistics and storage activities are fully compliant with BBV IPTAN HSW requirements.
  • To prepare and maintain accurate disposal / reallocation inventory.
  • Prevent fraud and theft and ensure high ethical standards across the entire demobilisation lifecycle and team(s).
  • Effective line management of demobilisation operational team, stores operatives and subcontractors.
  • Effective and efficient utilisation of demobilisation operations team, store operatives, logistics providers and or other subcontract resource.
  • Coordination and optimisation of storage environments within IPTAN.
  • To prepare and report on the demobilisation programme’s operational performance, achievement of ‘best value’ disposal / reallocation targets and KPI achievement.
  • Provide support and guidance on processes and procedures governing requirements and compliant demobilisation and disposal of items under £25K to all sublots and enabling functions.
  • Provide costings for demobilisation activities and or ongoing maintenance of infrastructure assets.
  • Work with project teams, subcontractors, and subject matter experts to ensure that handover, hand back and demobilisation programme requirements have been met and evidenced as such.
  • Briefing and liaising with the wider project team and subcontractors on the requirements management processes for asset demobilisation.
  • Assisting other disciplines in their interactions with the HS2 Commercial team in the approval of asset disposal and or reallocation during site demobilisation.
  • Facilitating monitoring and regular reporting on the performance of the ‘best value’ demobilisation, disposal and or reallocation programme.
  • Effective communication skills at all levels of the organisation.
  • Proven Operational Line Management Experience – including setting people to work safely – RAMS & POWRA etc.
  • Role model for BBV values and collaborative working behaviour.
