Salary: Base salary c£54,878 pa to £64,562 pa depending on skills and experience. In addition, we offer a flexible benefits fund of 20% paid on top of the base salary and fully pensionable.
Location: EK IPT – Milton Keynes (please ensure you are able to travel to site before applying).
Job Purpose: This role is responsible for managing the Supplier contract on behalf of the Project Client and Senior Project Managers, working effectively and collaboratively with HS2 and Supply Chain resource in the Integrated Project Team (IPT) to fulfil clearly defined HS2 accountabilities which enable efficient delivery of assigned scope of the Integrated Project Team (IPT) to agreed budget, time and quality parameters.
Responsibilities:
- Fulfil the duties and obligations of the NEC3 Project Manager on behalf of the Project Client and the Senior Project Manager.
- Support the Senior Project Manager in effectively and efficiently managing the construction contracts within an Integrated Project Team.
- Support the Senior Project Manager in establishing, monitoring, and managing delivery of consistent contract management, identifying emergent or systemic problems, leading to resolution.
- Manage and monitor contract performance.
- Review and accept programme schedule.
- Support the Senior Project Manager in proactively managing risks within the Integrated Project Team scope and support the mitigation of HS2 programme level risks.
- Carry out the Construction Design and Management Regulations (CDM) duties as delegated by the Client Representative.
- Support the delivery of client retained third-party works and services by being the interface with HS2 employees external to the Integrated Project Team.
- Support a collaborative culture that enables high performance by encouraging innovation and knowledge sharing between HS2 as the client, other Integrated Project Teams and the supply chain within Integrated Project Teams.

- Project Management – plan and integrate projects to deliver target costs, manage dependencies, risks and benefits (APM Project Manager intermediate level).
- Problem Solving – identify problems, review related information, develop and evaluate options, implement solutions, manage and plan workstreams considering competing demands.
- Decision Making – gather and synthesize necessary information to identify options and apply judgement based on logic and reason.
- Analysis – analyse inputs, assess data, develop strategies and document supporting rationales.
- Influencing & Negotiating – influence and negotiate with internal functions and external supply chain partners.
- Building Relationships – establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers to resolve emergent risk situations.
Knowledge:
- Understanding of project management knowledge aligned to the APM Project Manager intermediate level.
- Understanding of the relevant contract structures and application of appropriate contract and supplier performance systems.
- Understanding of risk identification and management.
- Understanding of project schedule management, dependencies and risk assessment.
Types of Experience:
- Experience of the entire project lifecycle including planning, procuring, developing, and implementing similar project activities.
- Experience of leading, managing people and working across functions and disciplines to deliver objectives.
- Qualification in project management, engineering, commercial management, or equivalent experience.
