The predicted salary is between 84300 - 112987 £ per year.
Base salary: £84300 pa to £112987 pa depending on skills and experience. In addition, we offer a flexible benefits fund of 20% which is paid on top of the base salary and is fully pensionable, as well as a range of competitive benefits.

As the Head of Project Controls, you will be responsible for developing and integrating the project baseline across scope, time, cost, risk and quality for a number of development and delivery areas of the HS2 Programme. The role will develop strategic insight on performance and trends to support senior leaders across HS2 and the Supply Chain in making trade-off decisions that best ensure the delivery of programme benefits.
About the role:
- To be responsible for owning the development and maintenance of an integrated baseline across scope, time, cost, risk and quality for a number of development/delivery areas, providing strategic insight on inter-dependencies, trends and performance.
- To be accountable for ensuring adherence with Programme Management Office (PMO) and Project Controls policies, processes and standards.
- To lead and coordinate project controls activities within the supply chain, portfolio, projects or contracts to assure the accuracy and quality of cost, risk and schedule information.
- To promote and apply consistent approaches towards project controls across the Portfolio and contracts.
- To support, challenge and influence senior leaders across HS2 and the Supply Chain to ensure 'best for HS2' decisions.
- To provide strategic analysis of the data & reports submitted and provide insights and trends on performance, risks to support decision making.
- To manage the periodic correlation of schedule, cost, quality and risk to drive expedient programme delivery.
- To own and manage risks across a portfolio of projects, leveraging Subject Matter Expert (SME) advice.
- To lead and coordinate the change management process.
- To manage and coordinate dependencies across a number of delivery areas.
- To lead the coordination and communication of the Period reporting cycle.
- To provide functional line management, performance management and objective setting support to direct reports.
- Actively promote and embed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI).
About you:

Knowledge:
- Knowledge of core Project Controls disciplines, including Schedule Management, Cost Management, Change Management and Risk Management.
- Knowledge of baseline development and maintenance.
- Understanding of NEC contracts and workflows between contractor and client.
Type of experience:
- Experience in leading large project controls teams on large projects/programmes.
- Demonstrable experience in core project controls functions.
- Experienced in the management and control of key Project Controls systems.
- Experience of facilitating and administering performance reviews with senior stakeholders.
- Experience of managing and/or influencing governance forums.
