The predicted salary is between 55000 - 65000 £ per year.

Salary London: Base salary: £91,000pa to £122,026pa depending on skills and experience. In addition, a flexible benefits fund of 20% is offered on top of the base salary, fully pensionable, and a range of competitive benefits are available. Role Overview: As Head of Delivery SCS at HS2, you will manage all client functions and lead the client team within the MWCC IPT Area Team. You will act as delegate and deputy to the MWCC Project Client, ensuring safe, compliant, on‑time and on‑budget delivery of the applicable civil delivery scope as part of the overall MWCC IPT programme.

Responsibilities:

  • Discharge the duties and obligations of the NEC3 Project Manager as defined by the contract.
  • Perform CDM duties as delegated by the Client Representative.
  • Establish, monitor, and lead contract management performance for the MWCC IPT, identifying emergent or systemic problems and leading to resolution.
  • Act as the HS2 Deputy Client representative for the MWCC IPT.
  • Review and accept programme schedules for the MWCC IPT.
  • Lead and coordinate the management and mitigation of HS2 programme client‑owned risks within the MWCC IPT scope.
  • Enable the delivery of client‑retained third‑party works (Utilities, On‑Network Works, and Enabling & Temporary Works) and services by managing interfaces with HS2 Client functions external to the MWCC IPT.
  • Lead the HS2 IPT Client Team (Construction & Functions) integrated within the MWCC IPT.
  • Create a collaborative culture that encourages high performance, innovation, and knowledge sharing across HS2 and the supply chain within the MWCC IPT.
  • Develop the workforce plan for HS2 resources in the MWCC IPT and achieve an efficient organisation that delivers value for money.
  • Work with HS2 functional leaders to ensure matrixed MWCC IPT resources are appropriate, capable, and performing to expected standards.
  • Actively promote and embed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all work, supporting organisational EDI initiatives, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Stakeholder management skills – ability to manage diverse stakeholder groups including central government, local government, professional bodies, internal stakeholders, and JV board stakeholders.
  • Team building – create strong morale, foster open dialogue, empower people, and promote belonging.
  • Conflict management – read situations quickly, listen actively, and find common ground to achieve constructive outcomes.
  • Decision quality – gather and synthesize information, identify options, apply sound judgment, and provide relevant data to stakeholders.
  • Clear direction – define and prioritize objectives, analyse inputs, assess data, and develop strategies.
  • Knowledge of best‑practice integrated programme delivery in a partnership construct within a matrix client organisation.
  • Familiarity with UK construction regulations, including CDM requirements.
  • Understanding of project and programme elements, cost breakdown structures, work breakdown structures, contract reporting, and risk and contingency management.
  • Experience delivering integrated infrastructure programmes with multiple assets, balancing time, cost, and quality.
  • Leadership of cross‑organisational teams at a senior level with decision‑making accountability.
  • Degree level qualification in engineering, construction, building science, commercial or project management, or equivalent professional accreditation.

Compensation & Benefits: Base salary: £91,000pa to £122,026pa. Flexible benefits fund of 20% on top of base salary, fully pensionable. Competitive benefits package available.
