Base salary: £54,878 pa to £64,562 pa

Senior Programme Manager – Provides professional project and programme management leadership for the delivery of the transformational Cost Assurance strategy across the HS2 Programme.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the Cost Assurance programme, including scheduling, tracking, reporting, RAID management and benefits management.
  • Produce regular progress reports for all Cost Assurance workstreams in conjunction with workstream leads.
  • Lead and drive scheduling activities of the team to ensure that activities are well planned, resourced and aligned with strategic goals.
  • Develop and measure Cost Assurance capability against maturity criteria.
  • Lead and coordinate communication from the team to the rest of the business and into the supply‑chain.
  • Lead risk management to ensure Cost Assurance activity adequately addresses threats/opportunities and proactively identifies new risks.

Qualifications

  • Ability to develop, plan and integrate projects across multiple functions/teams to optimise costs and project benefits.
  • Understanding of project/programme management knowledge aligned to the level of APM Project Manager (advanced).
  • Experience of the entire project lifecycle including planning, procuring, developing and implementing project activities.
  • Ability to identify necessary information, manage its gathering and synthesis, facilitate option identification and apply judgement based on logic and reason.
