Base salary: £46,406 pa to £54,595 pa depending on skills and experience. In addition, we offer a flexible benefits fund of 20% which is paid on top of base salary and is fully pensionable.

About the Role

The Senior Platform Manager (D365 & Power Platform) sits within the Platforms & Operations function and is responsible for the effective management of HS2’s Dynamics 365 and Power Platform capabilities. This role is responsible for the overall service quality of platforms and for using and applying knowledge of business goals and platform specific requirements to frame problems and set priorities for internal and external delivery teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day‑to‑day operations of suppliers who deliver platform development capabilities on behalf of HS2.
  • Provide support and guidance to all direct reports.
  • Define and implement platform strategy and vision, supporting the business in defining the future strategy for platforms and subsequent platform requirements.
  • Act as HS2’s principal technical subject matter expert on Dynamics 365, Power Platform and associated Microsoft technologies.
  • Manage the design, delivery, maintenance and continuous improvement of HS2 technology platforms in line with business needs.
  • Understand emerging technologies and identify how they can add value to strategy and the wider roadmap.
  • Manage a service support team with a customer‑centric support approach across multiple locations, focused on service availability and performance.
  • Ensure all service and support functions remain responsive to customer needs.

About You

  • Continual service improvement – identify process optimisation opportunities and contribute to the implementation of proposed solutions.
  • Service reporting – produce relevant reports in a standard format within agreed timeframes.

Knowledge

  • Digital information, digital contexts, design services, new technologies and their potential application.
  • IT Service Frameworks, Methodologies and best practice.

Experience

  • Managing the operational delivery of IT services, working with internal and external IT service teams to meet stakeholder and user needs.
  • Leading a team through the full platform lifecycle, continually evolving platform designs to meet user needs.
  • Supplier or vendor management.
