Location: Birmingham or London

Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance on the OCS system to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide assurance that the OCS contractor design and construction deliverables meet project requirements.
  • Work to resolve issues where appropriate.
  • Engage stakeholders to ensure a holistic approach for development of engineering solutions.
  • Provide technical assurance for the Overhead contact system discipline by ensuring correct application of requirements and specifications already contracted.
  • Work closely with the wider engineering, technical and commercial disciplines.
  • Contribute to the management of technical risk for Overhead contact system engineering works.
  • Establish reports and technical documents.
  • Review and provide OCS layout drawings.
  • Attend any OCS related discipline meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Specialist technical support and leadership on discipline‑specific scientific, technical, and engineering principles.
  • Communicate discipline‑specific technical ideas effectively.
  • Apply safety, environmental, and standard principles.
  • Apply information management, modelling and data security principles.
  • Understand UK construction regulations, including CDM.
  • Implement the Common Safety Method (CSM) for risk evaluation and assessment.
  • Have commercial awareness including understanding cost, schedule, and integrated solutions.
  • Experience managing multi‑disciplinary engineering and safety standards on large complex infrastructure projects.
  • Experience managing competing project demands with cost and schedule implications.
  • Knowledge confined to own discipline.
