Probation and reviews

The role has a three-month probationary period with formal reviews at approximately 30, 60 and 90 days.

Continued employment will depend on satisfactory progress, professional conduct, credible pipeline development and performance against agreed KPIs.

Commission applies only to eligible new contracts personally generated or materially won by the employee.

Payments are subject to the written commission and bonus scheme, including client payment, contract performance and agreed individual and company targets.

Role Description

The Senior Business Development Manager is a full-time role based in Oldham with a hybrid working arrangement, combining on-site presence with some work-from-home flexibility.

This role is responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities across security and facilities management services, building and maintaining relationships with key decision-makers, and developing strategic proposals tailored to client needs.

Day-to-day activities include managing the sales pipeline, preparing and delivering pitches and presentations, negotiating contracts and commercial terms, and collaborating with operations teams to ensure service solutions are deliverable and aligned with company capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management, ideally within security, facilities management, or related services.

  • Solid commercial acumen and understanding of pricing, contracts, and bid processes, including experience preparing proposals and tenders.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and report-writing skills, with the ability to explain service offerings and value propositions clearly.
  • Competence in using CRM systems and standard office software to manage pipelines, track activity, and produce accurate forecasts.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple opportunities, and meet revenue and growth targets in a fast‑paced environment.
