HRtechX is an exciting part of United Media, an entity that consistently builds and scales large‑scale industry media and conference products across diverse sectors such as insurance, HR, private equity, and retail. As our Chief Financial Officer, you will seize the unique opportunity to be a pivotal player in constructing one of our rapidly growing portfolio companies. This role is designed to continuously challenge you beyond your comfort zone, granting you full ownership of our financial operations and strategy to ensure highly tangible results that directly impact the business’s success.

What You’ll Actually Do

  • Strategic Financial Planning: Prepare and manage comprehensive annual budgets to facilitate effective financial planning across the organisation, ensuring alignment with business objectives and growth strategies.
  • Financial Performance Reporting: Provide weekly updates on cash flow, alongside conducting monthly P&L and cash updates, to deliver comprehensive financial insights and maintain clear visibility into the company’s fiscal health for internal stakeholders and investors.
  • Cost Efficiency & Debt Management: Proactively evaluate and implement strategic cost optimisation programs, concurrently reviewing intercompany and external loans to ensure optimal financial health and efficient capital structure.
  • Working Capital & HR Finance Leadership: Take full leadership over Working Capital responsibilities, alongside diligently managing Human Resources Financial Planning, ensuring these critical areas contribute effectively to overall financial stability.
  • Cross-functional Business Support: Offer essential financial support and insights to both sales and operations teams, enabling data‑driven decision‑making and fostering interdepartmental collaboration for business growth.

The Must-Haves

  • Background: Executive leadership with a strong accounting background, providing the foundational knowledge necessary for comprehensive financial oversight.
  • Experience: Over two years of experience gained from a Big Four firm, complemented by proven leadership experience as a CFO, Head of Finance, or Finance Director within a small or medium-sized business environment. A valid UK working permit is a mandatory prerequisite for this role.
  • Skills: Expertise in strategic Financial Planning, meticulous Budget Management, precise Cash Flow Management, insightful P&L Analysis, and effective Cost Optimisation strategies.
  • Bonus: A preferred, though not mandatory, background in the Media and Conferences industry.
