About HRS Communications: Founded and led by a registered dietitian, HRS Communications is a full-service, UK-based food and nutrition communications agency. We are a diverse team, highly skilled and qualified in food and nutrition, marketing and communications. We partner with ambitious food, nutrition and medical businesses who share our goal of 'maximising impact in the food and nutrition space'. Our balanced approach permeates every facet of our operations, from our commitment to disseminating evidence‐based nutrition information through to cultivating an equitable and adaptable work environment.

Job Overview: As the Growth Acquisition Manager, you will play a crucial role in executing HRS' growth strategy, with a particular focus on new business acquisition. You will represent HRS at key industry events, conferences and networking opportunities to support proactive outreach and relationship building. You will develop new business opportunities, foster relationships with key stakeholders, and help position HRS as a leader in nutrition communications. You will collaborate closely with our Growth Lead and Head of New Business Development to identify, pitch and secure high‐value client relationships. This role is pivotal in building our presence, creating meaningful connections and supporting the acquisition of new business from our target categories. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in business growth within a sales or advertising role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • New Contact Acquisition: Identify and engage (e.g. via email, LinkedIn, brand marketing campaigns, events, etc.) with potential clients in target categories to secure meetings and introductions for HRS.
  • Market Intelligence & Industry Trends: Stay ahead of industry trends, market developments and competitor activity within the nutrition, health and wellness sectors. Use this intelligence to identify new opportunities for HRS and anticipate client needs.
  • Client Meetings: Work with the Growth Lead to confidently deliver HRS' credentials and pitch services and opportunities to new prospective clients. Collaborate with internal teams, as needed, to develop compelling sales collateral.
  • Strategic Business Growth: Support the Growth Lead with the execution of a comprehensive business development strategy to grow HRS' client base across key sectors, focusing on long‐term revenue generation and partnerships.
  • Client Proposals: Responsible for new business client proposals and costings on small‐to‐medium sized accounts, on an end‐to‐end basis up until the client signs or approves work with HRS, with final sign‐off from the Growth Lead.
  • New Business Acquisition: Conduct client due diligence through to receipt of brief, costing out work, delivering presentations and proposals, and negotiating contracts. Work with the Marketing & Growth Specialist to develop, maintain and target a list of priority prospects. Identify and scope public sector and tender opportunities, as appropriate, and support the application process as required.
  • Client Relationship Management: Cultivate relationships with senior decision‐makers aligned to the HRS target categories and companies, regularly checking in and maintaining contact until we secure business or agree to remove from the target list.
  • Client Onboarding: Ensure new clients are onboarded seamlessly from an HR, admin and legal perspective and understand the full scope of services HRS provides.
  • New Client Handover: Work collaboratively with the client services team to hand over new clients, ensuring alignment between the proposal and campaign execution.
  • Brand Advocacy: Represent HRS at key industry events, conferences and networking opportunities to raise our profile and connect with potential clients and partners. Act as an ambassador for HRS, ensuring our values and expertise are communicated clearly and consistently.

Experience Required:

  • At least 3–5 years' experience in business development, growth or sales within communications, advertising, PR or marketing (nutrition/health sector preferred).
  • Demonstrable history of developing and securing new client relationships, including strategic partnerships and longer‐term contracts.

Skills Required:

  • Strong Networker: Ability to develop and maintain new relationships, regularly attending conferences and events where prospective clients will be, and representing HRS to a high standard.
  • Sales Acumen: Proven ability to drive new business acquisition and close opportunities. Ability to think creatively and strategically when developing ideas and solutions for clients. Confident presenter who builds rapport quickly.
  • Communication & Negotiation: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop persuasive proposals, deliver high‐impact presentations and negotiate favourable contracts.
  • Data‐Driven: Experience using data and insights to inform sales propositions and develop client‐focused ideas that add value and ensure HRS is best in class.
  • Remote Working: Self‐motivated and comfortable working remotely, with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.

Why Join Us?

  • Fully remote, flexible working (UK‐based team)
  • Regular team away days and an annual company residential for connection and collaboration
  • 20 days' annual leave plus bank/public holidays, and after your first year with us, enjoy extra days leave each year — up to 4 extra days!
  • Additional day off for your birthday!
