About HRLocker
HRLocker is an Irish HR software company.
We build HR, time and attendance, recruitment, onboarding and performance software that helps small and mid-sized businesses manage their people in one place.
We are a fully remote team, and we work the way we ask our customers to work: clear communication, trust, and flexibility built around results rather than presence.
Our Sales team is growing, and we're looking for someone to join our team!
Purpose of the role
The Business Development Representative owns the top of our sales funnel.
You will generate new pipeline through outbound prospecting and qualify the inbound leads that come to us through demos, trials, content and webinars, so that our Account Executives can focus on progressing and closing opportunities.
This is a high-activity, high-conversation role and the first commercial contact most prospects have with HRLocker.
It suits someone who is genuinely comfortable picking up the phone, who is curious about the problems HR teams are trying to solve, and who wants to build a career in Saa S sales.
Key responsibilities
- Research and identify target accounts and decision makers in HRLocker’s core markets, and build prospect lists that reflect our ideal customer profile.
- Run consistent outbound prospecting across phone, email and Linked In, working to agreed daily and weekly activity levels.
- Respond to and qualify inbound leads quickly, including demo requests, free trial sign-ups, content downloads and webinar attendees.
- Hold discovery conversations by phone and video to understand a prospect’s current HR processes, uncover genuine business need and qualify against our fit criteria.
- Book qualified meetings and demonstrations for Account Executives, and hand over clear, well-documented context so the next conversation starts well.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all activity, contacts and opportunities in Hub Spot.
- Meet or exceed agreed monthly targets for activity, qualified meetings and pipeline contribution.
- Build and maintain strong product knowledge across the HRLocker suite, and be able to speak credibly about the problems it solves.
- Feed objections, competitor information and market intelligence back to Sales and Marketing.
- Work with Marketing on campaign follow-up, and contribute to improving outreach messaging, sequences and playbooks.
- Take part in team meetings, pipeline reviews, training and coaching sessions, and act on the feedback given.
- What we are looking for
Essential
- At least two years’ experience in a sales, business development, telesales or comparable target-driven customer-facing role.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, and confidence making outbound calls and holding video conversations with prospects.
- Resilience and persistence, with comfort working to high activity levels and handling rejection.
- Strong questioning and listening skills, with the ability to qualify prospects and identify genuine business need.
- Organisation and time management, with the discipline to manage a high volume of outreach and follow-ups.
- Confident using a CRM and sales engagement tools.
- Target-driven, with a track record of meeting or exceeding activity and pipeline goals.
- Interest in HR technology and Saa S, and a willingness to learn the product in depth.
- A coachable team player who acts on feedback and contributes to a collaborative sales culture.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland, and a home working environment suitable for confidential calls and video conversations.
Desirable
- Hub Spot experience.
- Experience in B2B Saa S or software sales.
- Exposure to HR, payroll or people technology, or to selling to HR and business owners in small and mid-sized companies.
No specific qualification is required for this role. We are more interested in how you communicate, how you think about a prospect’s problem, and your appetite to learn.
What we offer
- Salary of 27,500 per annum.
- Fully remote working.
- 25 days’ annual leave, plus public holidays, your Birthday, Christmas Eve and Good Friday off work.
- Company maternity and paternity pay on successful completion of probation, as set out in the Employee Handbook.
- Structured onboarding, ongoing sales coaching and support for your professional development.
Benefits are discretionary and are set out in full in the HRLocker Employee Handbook.
We will confirm the salary for the role before your first interview, and we will not ask you about your current or previous pay.
