HRLife are looking for an engaging, inclusive Talent Manager for an initial 18-month FTC to deliver an exciting, high-profile project for their UK business. Working in a small team, this is a project related role where you’ll be partnering with stakeholders, understanding their teams and the roles within each to really get to grips with what each role does, the responsibilities and duties each role is responsible for to ultimately help the business identify, develop and retain top talent and also drive the right behaviours internally.

You’ll be tasked with scoping out all functional competencies for every role within the business, so each hiring manager is able to support and enhance career growth and development paths for individuals. Working with the head office functions initially such as Finance, Marketing and IT you will have previous experience of working with Centres of Excellence to define and embed these competencies in their day-to-day activity.

Monitoring external talent trends and competitor analysis, you’ll bring ideas and sector expertise to strengthen existing job descriptions and recommend new ways of writing JDs to incorporate new functional competencies. You’ll have an analytical mind, be able to ask the right questions to managers to understand the focus of each role and be able to design and create functional competencies for each position.

If you’ve worked previously in a Manufacturing / FMCG environment that will be a huge advantage. Your background will be in the talent development space, (this won’t suit a Talent Acquisition or recruitment background). Ideally, you’ll have done a similar project previously where you can advise and provide support to managers on which competencies are required moving forward which will help them think and help shape the future of their teams.

Commercial, proactive, and enthusiastic mindset with a solutions-focused approach. Skilled in prioritising deliverables, measuring success, and driving innovation. Strong relationship-building skills with HR and leadership, with the ability to influence and build credibility. Highly organised, detail-oriented, and adept at managing projects. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication.

Based London 2-3 days a week. Initially 18-month FTC with potential to extend.
