HRLife are excited to be working with a small, but hugely successful business to find their next HR Manager on a part time basis (20-25 hours per week). There is some flexibility and this can either be 3 full days or across 5 days working school hours.
You'll be working closely with the Directors and board members to manage all aspects of HR, ensuring compliance with employment legislation, internal policies and company values. You'll contribute to helping maintain a people oriented business with a positive culture, where staff are valued and the business is viewed as an “employer of choice.”
You'll provide the Directors strategic support with people-focused business decisions and support and coach managers to ensure they're great managers developing, retaining and engaging their teams. Reporting directly to the MD, you'll work as a business partner providing HR input on all key issues across the business to include:
- Undertaking all aspects of HR including policies, contracts, recruitment, training, reward, employee relations and engagement.
- Recruitment – managing the whole recruitment process from start to finish, including reviewing selection processes, agency negotiation, proactively using LinkedIn to attract and hire great talent, conducting interviews, designing inductions through to embedding successful onboarding processes.
- Managing the apprenticeship schemes, liaising with the relevant universities and offering day to day support to the apprentices.
- Promoting specific career routes across the local school network by offering resources for careers events and managing the work experience and sponsorship schemes.
- Identifying training needs and sourcing suitable training providers/courses for soft skills training.
- Working across the business to support staff development and succession planning.
- Supporting managers in the delivery of quarterly one to one reviews.
- Advising managers on employee relations issues, ensuring compliance with relevant employment laws and good practice.
- Maintaining up to date knowledge of relevant employment legislation and HR changes affecting the business.
- Ensuring company policies are kept up to date to reflect current employment legislation and that any changes are communicated in a timely way.
- Compensation – monitoring current remuneration and making recommendations for future pay increases.
- Staff health and well-being – encouraging a supportive culture in dealing with mental or physical health issues and developing initiatives to improve staff well-being.
- Conducting regular employee satisfaction surveys and working with the directors to implement change as required.
Ideal candidate will have a mix of Operational and Strategic HR experience with a focus on talent, recruitment, development and culture. You'll have a natural ability to see the "big picture" while maintaining an eye for the administrative details. Have great influencing skills and be confident in challenging senior stakeholders and coaching managers through change. Salary is 50k FTE which will be pro rated for the 20/25 hours you work.
