HRLife are looking for a Senior HR Manager / Head of HR to lead HR for the UK and a small population of employees in EMEA. You will be working closely with the Senior Leadership team and UK GM to drive the people strategy with a focus on engagement, culture and developing management capability ensuring a high performing, happy and engaged workforce.
Working as part of the wider global HR team, you will have a broad generalist background, used to working in a matrix environment and have previous experience of leading a small HR team based in the UK and Europe. You will be responsible for leading and developing the UK HR function to deliver a comprehensive HR service to the business, implementing HR strategies and objectives that are aligned to the overall global business strategy and ensuring a pro-active HR service is delivered and offered to the business.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Business Partnering senior leaders to coach, develop and upskill them on day-to-day employee issues such as absence, L&D, succession planning and talent management.
- Developing a small HR team, managing their day-to-day workload but also supporting their development and growth.
- Advising managers on employee relations issues, managing absence, disciplinaries, grievances etc.
- Pro-actively coach managers on performance management processes, supporting them to have difficult conversations and ensuring their teams are continually developed and engaged.
- Providing guidance to management on learning & development for their teams.
- Implementing a training and development agenda and when required; identify general areas that need focus and improvement.
- Managing and overseeing the whole recruitment process, ensuring a great candidate experience through the recruitment and onboarding process.
- Managing all compensation and benefit activities, including participation in salary and benefit surveys, benefit reviews, benefit updates etc.
- Working with the outsourced 3rd party payroll provider to ensure a smooth and timely payroll process.
- Updating all policies, handbooks, procedures and processes. Ensuring policies and procedures are up to date and in line with current employment law and best practice and any changes communicated with line managers.
- Working with senior managers to design and embed new ways of working and creating innovative solutions on wellbeing, engagement and D&I.
- Supporting with global change and OD projects.
Experience of working in a commercial manufacturing business would be advantageous. Experience of supporting employees in EMEA or the Nordics would also be advantageous. This is a broad generalist role and requires someone with great communication skills, an eye for detail, who can multi-task and juggle various projects.
Based in the office 3 days a week in Surrey and 2 days at home with travel as needed. Essential you have managed a small HR team previously, 'can do payroll' and are happy to and have the mix of ops and strategic background with a client group that has a blend of corporate / head office and blue collar production/manufacturing people. Salary between 80-90k plus car allowance and benefits.
