As a qualified Electrical or Mechatronics Engineer, you will play a key role in improving gas turbine, MRO and test facility operations through hands-on engineering support. This role involves PLC programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, system integration, maintenance and calibration of complex electrical and mechatronic systems. This is a genuinely hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys working directly with equipment and control systems in operational environments.

ROLE OVERVIEW AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Undertake hands-on electrical/mechatronics engineering activities including installation, commissioning, calibration, system testing, fault finding and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Program, troubleshoot and integrate PLC-based control systems (Allen Bradley, Siemens and/or Honeywell preferred).
  • Support the design, development and continuous improvement of complex test cell, MRO and operational systems.
  • Provide practical engineering support during installation, maintenance and system integration activities.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering).
  • Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain a Defence Security Clearance.
  • RPEQ registration highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience working with electrical/mechatronic systems in industrial, manufacturing, aerospace, defence or similar environments.
  • Practical experience in commissioning, fault finding, troubleshooting and calibration of electrical/control systems.
  • Full lifecycle engineering experience from concept and design through to commissioning and operation.
  • Experience producing engineering documentation (designs, calculations, drawings, test procedures, reports & compliance evidence).
  • Ability to conduct and document technical and safety risk assessments.
