Are you a high-performing, resilient HR leader looking for a role where you can genuinely make an impact? We’re working with our client, a highly respected, PE-backed group with a national presence and a reputation for quality and exceptional service. They’re looking for a Head of Human Resources to lead their HR function and join a high-performing, no-nonsense senior leadership team. It’s a demanding, fast-paced role — but also one where you’ll be truly valued, supported, and part of something that matters.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, you’ll lead a small but dedicated HR team of 2 HRBPs and 1 People Partner. You’ll be responsible for the full HR operational service across a multi-site, 24/7 business — from employee relations and operational HR to policy development, recruitment, engagement, and L&D partnership working. This is an office-based role in Andover, with travel to sites across the UK (expenses paid). 2 days a week WFH can be agreed, but flexibility is crucial — you’ll need to support teams working outside of standard office hours when necessary, and be visible to managers and teams on the ground. A car is essential.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong, credible HR leader who thrives in a fast-moving, people-focused business.
- Emotional intelligence, commercial acumen, and high standards of professionalism.
- CIPD Level 7 (or equivalent).
- Experienced in a senior HR role within a demanding, multi-site, operational environment.
- An expert in employment law, employee relations and HR best practice.
- Resilient, calm under pressure, with a sense of humour and a pragmatic, ‘firm but fair’ approach.
- Empathetic and people-centred, but positively assertive, with the confidence to coach, influence, and challenge where needed.
- Someone who leads by example, is loyal, discreet, and dependable — with the trust and maturity to take full ownership of the HR function when the CPO is away.
- Strong people management and team development skills.
Why Join?
This isn’t a job for the faint-hearted — it’s a fast-paced, high-demand environment, especially at peak times. But it’s also a caring, collaborative, genuinely supportive culture, where you’ll be respected, well looked after, and backed 110%. You’ll work alongside a brilliant leadership peer group, including high performers and good people who will welcome and support you from day one.
If you’re someone who gets the job done, pulls together with your team, holds high standards, and brings empathy and humour to the table — you’ll thrive here.
