We’re recruiting a hands‑on Extrusion Operator / Team Leader to play a key role in developing a growing extrusion operation.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well‑established manufacturer where you will combine technical expertise with the opportunity to support and guide a small production team.
The Role
As an Extrusion Operator / Team Leader you will operate and set up rubber extrusion machinery while ensuring production targets, quality standards and health & safety requirements are consistently achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate rubber extrusion machinery.
- Prepare raw materials and ensure the correct compounds are used.
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain product quality.
- Carry out product changeovers efficiently.
- Complete quality inspections using measuring equipment.
- Troubleshoot production issues and work closely with engineering to minimise downtime.
- Support and motivate colleagues throughout the shift.
- Assist with work allocation to ensure production schedules are met.
- Promote excellent housekeeping and health & safety standards.
- Support continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing initiatives.
- The Candidate
- Previous Team Leader or Supervisory experience would be advantageous.
- Strong understanding of rubber compounds and extrusion processes.
- Experience using measuring equipment such as calipers and profile gauges.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proactive approach with a strong commitment to quality and safety.
