Labourer / Banksman – Self-Employed Contractor

Sure Building and Construction Ltd (SBC) are principal contractors, delivering residential and commercial construction services across Greater London, Essex, Kent, Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire. Founded in 2017, with over 70 years' combined experience in the industry, and we pride ourselves on quality work and strong relationships with our clients and communities.
We are looking for an experienced Labourer / Banksman to join a busy construction site on a self-employed basis. This is a full-time contract role for 6 to 9 months. You will be engaged as a self-employed contractor, paid under CIS and responsible for your own tax affairs.
What you will be doing
You'll provide general labouring support across the site, working closely with trades and site management to keep things running safely and efficiently. Duties include:
- General labouring duties around the building site
- Assisting trades and site management
- Moving and handling materials
- Keeping the site clean, tidy and safe
- Loading and unloading deliveries
- Directing vehicles and assisting with site movements as Banksman
- Following all site health and safety procedures
- Other general duties as required by the Site Manager
What you will need
- A valid Banksman certificate
- An Enhanced DBS check (this site is based within a school, so this is essential)
- Own PPE and right to work in the UK
- Ability to register for CIS as self-employed
- A reliable, hands-on approach and good understanding of site safety
