Description

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Community Engagement Officer to join our team. This role is pivotal in strenghtening relationships between Council and the community by developing and implementing engagement strategies that ensure meaningful participation in decision-making.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Support the planning and delivery of community engagement activities for Council projects, strategies and services.
  • Coordinate and deliver engagement activities (workshops, surveys, online engagement).
  • Collate feedback and contribute to reporting, identifying key themes and insights to inform decision making.
  • Maintain digital engagement platforms and build positive relationships with stakeholders and internal teams.

Skills And Experiences

About You

  • Degree or diploma in communications, community development, social science, public policy or similar, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience supporting community engagement with an understanding of frameworks such as IAP2 desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to engage with diverse communities.
  • Well-organised, able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a collaborative team environment.
  • Sound analytical skills to summarise feedback and support reporting.
  • Confidence using digital tools to support engagement activities.
