A leading business in the distilling and manufacturing sector is seeking an experienced HSE Manager to lead and evolve their Health, Safety, and Environmental strategy across multiple operational sites, including a COMAH-regulated facility. Reporting to the Operations Director, the HSE Manager will develop and manage risk-based systems that ensure legal compliance, operational safety, and environmental sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee core Health & Safety systems: Risk assessments, policies, incident reporting
- Permit to work, training, cultural development
- Fire safety and security systems
- Maintain COMAH Safety Report and emergency procedures
- Liaise with regulators (HSE, SEPA), local authorities, and industry groups
- Lead Environmental Management System development and data tracking
- Define and monitor environmental KPIs and objectives
- Ensure compliance with key legislation: H&S at Work Act, DSEAR, Fire Safety, Manual Handling.
- Maintain and update Business Continuity Plans
Candidate Profile:
- Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant technical field
