This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced pensions professional who is looking to develop their career within a highly regarded organisation, working with a diverse portfolio of pension schemes and supporting clients with high-quality pension administration services.
The Opportunity
As a Senior Pensions Administrator, you will play an important role in the delivery of accurate and efficient administration services across a range of pension schemes.
You will manage a varied caseload, dealing with members throughout the lifecycle of their pension benefits, while also providing technical support to colleagues and helping to ensure that high standards of service are consistently maintained.
This is a role where your existing pensions knowledge will be valued, but where there is also scope to continue developing your technical expertise and take on greater responsibility.
What You'll Be Doing
Your responsibilities will include:
- Administering a portfolio of pension schemes and managing a range of member-related activities.
- Processing retirements, deaths, transfers, joiners, leavers and other pension events.
- Carrying out pension calculations and checking work for accuracy and compliance with scheme requirements.
- Managing your own workload effectively and ensuring cases are progressed within agreed timescales.
- Supporting more junior members of the administration team with technical queries and complex cases.
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring all member information is processed correctly.
- Preparing reports and information for clients and trustees.
- Supporting annual pension increase exercises and other scheme-related activities.
- Maintaining cashbooks and carrying out relevant reconciliations.
- Identifying and resolving more complex administration issues.
- Contributing to continuous improvement within the administration team and helping to maintain excellent client and member service.
What We're Looking For
We're keen to speak with experienced pensions administrators who are ready to take the next step in their career.
You’ll ideally have:
- Solid experience working within a pensions administration environment.
- Good knowledge of Defined Benefit (DB) pension schemes, with experience of Defined Contribution (DC) and/or CARE schemes being advantageous.
- Experience of managing your own workload and prioritising competing deadlines.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to your work.
- The confidence to deal with member and client queries professionally.
- The ability to investigate issues, identify solutions and work through more complex cases.
- Experience of supporting or mentoring less experienced colleagues would be beneficial.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- GCSE/Scottish Standard (or equivalent) qualifications in Maths and English at Grade B or above.
