We are recruiting a skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a manufacturing facility in Ayrshire. This hands-on role will see you maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving production and processing equipment. You will work closely with the engineering and maintenance teams to ensure maximum uptime, support continuous improvement initiatives, and deliver safe and reliable operations across the site. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, industrial environment and takes pride in keeping critical production systems running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance on production machinery
- Diagnose and fault-find electrical, control, and automation issues to minimise downtime
- Maintain and troubleshoot PLCs, drives, sensors, and control panels
- Assist with installation, commissioning, and upgrades of new equipment
- Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and industry standards
- Maintain accurate maintenance and compliance records
Key Requirements
- Electrical Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 / HNC / equivalent)
- Proven experience in a manufacturing or processing environment
- Strong fault-finding skills on electrical and control systems
- PLC experience (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or equivalent)
- Ability to work under pressure and respond to breakdowns effectively
- Flexible approach to shift work
