Job Description: We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Structural Steel Estimator to join an expanding manufacturing company. As an estimator, you will play the role of ensuring the success of projects by providing accurate cost estimates. Duties of a structural steel estimator: · Prepare cost estimates for projects consisting of the design, manufacture and erection of structural steel frames – this includes materials, labour and equipment. · You will be analysing project specifications and drawings to determine project requirements. · Collaborating with project managers and engineers to gather necessary information for accurate estimates. · You will research and obtain pricing information from suppliers and subcontractors · Calculating labour and material costs based on project scope and specifications – Conducting material take-offs and creating tender summaries for projects. · Meeting deadlines and provide detailed quotations. · Review and analyse historical data to improve accuracy of future estimates. · Attend client meetings and occasionally visit project sites as required. Skills of a structural steel estimator: · Strong mathematical and analytical skills. · Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and construction documents. · Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. · Knowledge of Structural Steel materials, methods, and equipment. · Ability to work independently and meet deadlines · Strong communication skills, both written and verbal · Proficient in using estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite Key Experience of a structural steel estimator: · The ideal candidate will have at least three years’ experience in hot and cold rolled steel structures. · Proven experience as an estimator in the structural steel industry. · Familiarity with cost control techniques. · Ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively. · Strong verbal and written communication skills. · Professional communication with customers.
