We have an opportunity for an IT System Administrator to join our IS Services team. Your primary focus will be providing effective solutions to escalated technical issues and providing a high level of technical expertise to the IT team and the business. The role will include providing administration and support for existing solutions and ensuring effective working across the full range of services provided to the business.
Responsibilities
- Working as part of a small team in a dynamic technical environment, you will receive and respond to IT support requests via in person conversations, telephone or electronic communication from staff using our existing Service Desk solution.
- You will also have exposure to our varied array of technology.
Key Qualifications and Skills
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree (in technology or computer science preferable), or IT centric or vendor qualifications or demonstrable experience & understanding across extended years.
- Significant technical experience in an IT role for:
- Microsoft based applications & solutions based on-premised or Office365.
- Desktop and Server hardware deployment and management.
- Networking TCP/IP, Switches, routers, Wireless Networks.
- Security Technologies (Firewalls, VPN, Proxy, Content Filtering / IPS/ IDS).
- Virtualisation centred on Hyper-V.
- Unstructured file system based on ISCSI storage area networks.
Desirable
- Oversight & awareness of a Linux and/or HPC environments.
- Understanding and application of ITIL.
- Experience with direct management and team leadership for at least two years.

Salary: from £35,000 - £40,000 plus benefits, depending on experience.
