About the Role
As a Windows Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in the infrastructure team which is responsible for the technology backbone that drives the firm’s success. You’ll have a direct impact on the business by collaborating with various teams to deliver effective solutions. In this role, you’ll have the autonomy to own the entire technology stack, always looking for opportunities to innovate, automate, and improve. From scaling infrastructure to managing large volumes of data, your work will enhance the efficiency and reliability of critical systems.
Responsibilities
- Collaboratively architecting a rock-solid and secure Windows and storage platform that can handle the huge volumes of data and load of our diverse technology estate.
- Create, implement, and evangelise the "Infrastructure as Code" mindset and best practices across the environment.
- Eliminate the toil that emerges with large, distributed systems by automating where possible.
- Assist the migration strategy to more cloud-native, distributed applications.
- Working as both an individual contributor and collaboratively to find new ways of improving the reliability, availability and performance of the infrastructure.
Technologies / Experience

- Excellent level scripting / coding skills in one or more languages (PowerShell / Python / Golang / Shell etc).
- Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible / Puppet / Terraform etc).
- Windows systems knowledge including Active Directory and Exchange.
- Storage knowledge including SAN and NAS technologies at large scale.
- Experience with network technologies, server virtualisation.
- Broad knowledge of Azure and AWS technologies.
- Broad knowledge of observability systems (Prometheus / ELK / LGTM / Pager Duty).
