Currently recruiting an experienced legal secretary to join a fast-paced and well-established team in their Cheltenham Office.
The ideal candidate will have experience working as a legal secretary or similar with a preference.
The Role
- Preparation of correspondence and legal documents.
- Digital dictation, word processing and copy typing with speed and accuracy.
- Preparation of electronic Family Court bundles and managing case-related deadlines.
- Maintaining fee earners' diaries including computerised diaries; making appointments, arranging meetings.
- Submitting to the notaries bookkeeper monthly accounting data by electronic data transmission.
- Efficient use of case manager systems, including court and accounting/land registry portals.
- Dealing with telephone enquiries.
- Undertaking general office duties; photocopying, emailing, faxing.
- Preparation of mail for dispatch.
- Taking and passing on messages to the appropriate person; taking the initiative to deal with administrative/process enquiries.
- Dealing with web enquiries.

- Legal knowledge: understanding of law procedures and terminology is essential.
- Secretarial skills: proficient in typing, dictation, document formatting and general office administration.
- Communication skills: excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with clients, colleagues and the court.
- Organisational skills: ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
- IT skills: proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, Excel), and experience with case management systems.
- Professionalism: maintaining confidentiality, discretion, and a professional demeanour with clients and colleagues. Maintaining a smart appearance and dress code appropriate for the role. Punctual and reliable in office attendance.
- Adaptability: willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing priorities and work demands.
- Teamwork: ability to work effectively as a part of a team and collaborate with others.
