Built on technical excellence, operational reliability and a customer first approach, we have earned a strong reputation within the aviation industry for consistently delivering safe, efficient and dependable solutions.

The role

This is a pivotal role within the business and an exciting opportunity to influence the next phase of GCAM's growth. As Global Sales Director, you will be responsible for developing and executing our international business development strategy, building relationships with airline operators and aviation partners worldwide, and creating a strong pipeline of maintenance opportunities. We're looking for a commercially driven individual who enjoys building relationships, opening doors and creating opportunities. You'll be comfortable operating at a strategic level whilst remaining hands on in developing opportunities and delivering results.

What you will be doing

  • Developing and delivering the commercial strategy for GCAM, identifying target markets, customer segments and growth opportunities that support the long term objectives of the business.
  • Identifying and developing new opportunities with airline operators, aviation partners and relevant industry contacts.
  • Building trusted relationships that create repeat business and long term commercial value.
  • Developing and maintaining a clear pipeline of aircraft opportunities for GCAM maintenance activity.
  • Representing GCAM at customer meetings, industry events and relevant aviation forums.

  • Providing clear pipeline updates, activity reporting and commercial insight to support decision making.
  • Helping create onward opportunity for ASI teardown activity where appropriate.

What we are looking for

  • Someone who combines sector credibility with the discipline to build a structured pipeline.
  • Confidence operating independently, but also willing to spend time understanding the business, the people and the operation behind the service.
  • Experience in aviation, aerospace, MRO, aircraft maintenance or a closely related commercial environment.
  • A strong track record in business development, relationship led sales or major account growth.
  • The confidence to engage with senior customer stakeholders and represent the business professionally.
  • Good commercial judgement, including the ability to qualify opportunities properly and focus effort where it will add value.
  • A proactive, self starting approach, with the presence and motivation to drive activity without constant prompting.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • A practical, collaborative style and the ability to work well with operational and technical colleagues.

How success will be measured

Success in this role will be measured through both activity and outcomes. This will include the quality of the pipeline being developed, customer engagement, commercial progression, aircraft secured into GCAM and the wider value created across the group.
